Perfect fit for my 19 subaru crosstrek. The fishing line comes in handy and a lift if available. Luckily I work in a shop that has one and is a etrailer installer. At precision Welding and trailer repair out of south sioux city nebraska. Highly recommend this hitch.
Purchased a new 2025 Crosstrek that replaced a 13 year old Impreza that I had been putting my Mt bike inside the car to transport. I didn't want to mess up the new interior so I opted for a hitch mounted bike rake.
I went with eTrailer as product is American made, their website had hundreds of reviews for Crosstrek installations. The reviews convinced me that the product would fit my car and that I could perform the installation by myself. The reviews ended up saving me time and money.
The hitch is extremely well made and very solid. The fit is perfect. Only the receiver is visible and its color matches the bumper, and it's perfectly level and flush with the bumper.
Most challenging part was opening the two holes to insert hardware. Needed only a small hydraulic jack to get the hitch in place. The fishwires make alignment simple and easy; couldn't do the install without them. Complete install took about an hour.
Very satisfied with etrailer and the hitch.

One year with this hitch and I have zero complaints. Installed it myself following the how-to video which was clear and straightforward. I’ve mainly used it for hauling bikes so no use with trailers yet but I feel confident in its ability to tow, and it’s held up without any issues. The build quality is solid, with no rust or wear, and it still feels as sturdy as the day I installed it. I really appreciate how dependable it’s been—gives me peace of mind every time I tow. Definitely worth the investment.
Pretty easy. But took my time and was done in a couple of hours. The trick was getting an exact length tube to wedge between the ground and the hitch flange to hold it up so I could use 2 hands to hold the bolt and thread the nut on.
This hitch is 1/2 the price of the OEM hitch from Subaru and has a higher tongue rating, same tow rating. Directions (video) was amazing making this a simple install in my 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness. I don't plan on doing any towing as I have other vehicles to do that, but I could. I 100% would recommend this tow hitch to anyone who is undecided about using this hitch.
The etrailer hitch fits perfectly on my 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness edition. The matte black finish matches well with the matte black cladding of the Wilderness edition. Very satisfied with the product and the service from Kyle at etrailer.

Fantastic. My wife loads her bikerack on it every weekend. No issues at all. Great product.
The instructions and videos were great. Self installation was physically challenging due to the weight of the hitch but I was able to do it without assistance. We have used it to carry multiple bikes and works like a charm.
This is a nicely made hitch with excellent welds and nice finish. Viewing the videos for installation is a must. I put mine on, by myself, with the car on the garage floor (no lifts or ramps) and without taking the exhaust off the hangers and removing it. I used some blocks to hold up the sides and placed a scissor jack in the center to raise it with the receiver zip tied to the jack to keep it level. I did have to grind out some notches in the front holes to pass the carriage bolt and plates. My only complaint is that the bolts in the front are the same length as those in the rear and, after placing the leveling spacert in the front, leave barely have thread even after shaving down the caulk sealant at the joint just in front of the front hole, as suggested/demonstrated in 1 of the videos. It would be easy enough to provide longer bolts for the front hole and I don't understand why etrailer doesn't do this given that this is a common complaint in the reviews. Installation would have been much easier with a lift or ramps, moving the exhaust out of the way, a 2nd pair of hands, and longer front bolts.
Have not installed it yet, but will do so this weekend and will update. But so far I received it faster than they said it would and the lady at customer service that I ordered from was very helpful and polite, and after taking out of the box it looks very well built. Overall at this point very happy with it. Thanks jeff

Installed within 30 minute easily on a 2025 crosstrek. Using a strap on the trunk latch, I was able to do it by myself. Holds a bike rack solid.
It does rest very close to muffler pipe, but didn’t touch.

Awesome! The video shiwed exactly what I had to do. The hitch got here faster than I thought and I installed it in about 45 minutes. There were written instructions also as a back up that were specific to my car down to the exact model year. The hitch looks like it is very well fabricated. Buy the etrailer one. It is perfect.
2nd receiver hitch I have ordered from Etrailer.com. Very pleased with the product, price and service. Highly recommend them to anybody in need of a hitch or trailer related equipment.

This is a very well made hitch receiver, very solid and looks great on my 2023 Crosstrek! Installation is just as described in video provided. I bought a 1-1/8” step up drill that worked great to enlarge one hole in each side. As mentioned in other reviews this is a 2 person job and you need to have the car up on blocks.
I’m very impressed with the product and service of etrailer. I called them to ask some questions, they answered right away and were able to answer my questions.

Its been a year since I got this hitch, Ive had no problems with it. Works great!
I had it mounted by one of etrailer's recommended installers and they had no issues. The shop billed the job for 2 hours of shop time which I felt fair for the work needed including a lift. The vehicle being a Subaru Crosstrek will not be towing, but carrying bikes and kayaks. The Yakima Long arm Load Extender purchased here on etrailer. It was packaged in a heavy cardboard box that adequately kept mine from breaking out of the box. The UPS driver stated "he wished that these hitches were shipped in no box, wrapped in foam and tape". These are well built and heavy with a solid powder coat finish. Clearance fit was perfect with no need for cutting the car's bumper.
Was really impressed by how straight forward the install was on my ‘23 Crosstrek. Well built, sturdy product, would recommend.

Great Low profile hitch! This is a way better option than the Subaru brand for the buck. I am truly satisfied with this hitch very easy to install, took my wife & I maybe 15/20 minutes to install it. I didn’t install an electrical harness as I only need/want it for my bike rack. This is the second hitch receiver I purchase from etrailer.com and both times I’ve been pretty satisfied.

Watched installation video coupe of times. Somewhat easy to install with 2 people. Takes a little maneuvering to position the hitch.
Trailer hitch fit perfectly on my Subaru Crosstrek. The only difficulty during installation was trying to thread the bolt into the hole. Procedure probably could not have been easier, but took several tries in the uncomfortable position under the car. I later had to meet with a friend at work to use his torque-wrench to fully tighten bolts. The correct torque was much higher than I expected. Hitch has performed well for the past year.
